Black and yellow dragonfly - Pachydiplax longipennis - female

Black and yellow dragonfly - Pachydiplax longipennis - Female
Katy, Fort Bend County, Texas, USA
May 29, 2007
This dragonfly showed up in my suburban garden yesterday in the late morning. It looks similar to the Tawny Pennant, but the stripes and markings are different, and there seem to be other differences in the face (notably, mine appears to have some blue on its face).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Looks to be
Pachydiplax longipennis, female - info here

They're so very different!
Amazing. I have shots of three different males of this specific dragonfly, and I'd never have guessed -- although I did know that the males and females can look quite different.

Thank you so much! You're very, very helpful.
