Nectaring in Eriastrum sapphirinum (Sapphire Woollystar).

Lots of color difference in your female and mine.
Here, I was thinking that was a girl thing. I often wonder what "species" means, in light of variations. Guess I'm no inclusionist.

 
I think that 'color variation'
here is a function of lighting, included reflected light from flowers of different colors. Only two species in this genus (see Info. page), the other one doesn't have this wing pattern.
Re. species concept I'll send you a couple of good reads.
