One of the first "emergees", from specimens collected as pupae. Haven't gotten any shots of the females yet, but I will do that soon.

Moved
Moved from Mosquitoes.

culex of some kind
i might be able to tell when the females emerge, but we will see

Thanks Omar
A bunch of females have already emerged. Unfortunately, most too, have also expired. I have a lot of summer school work this week, so haven't gotten the chance to sort through the flies. I suspect more than one species, but I'll get back to you on that as soon as I can.

no rush man
you got your priorities straight

Perhaps this is Cx. restuans.
Perhaps this is Cx. restuans. Does it look like it has the two spots? I think I see at least one.

agreed
i was gonna say Cx pipiens, but I see what you say

Thanks guys
I was keying it through with a guide that I borrowed from the library, and also came to the same conclusion myself based on the two spots. Good to know I'm on the same page this time. I've had almost three dozen of these emerging, and more larvae still developing in the rearing container.
