Unknown Colorado Beetle - Gibbifer californicus

Unknown Colorado Beetle - Gibbifer californicus
Bailey, Colorado, USA
May 28, 2007
Size: 1 inch
There was a fire several years back in the Bailey area. There are still a lot of burnt/dead trees here. I saw a lot of these little guys hanging out on some of the fungus growing on the burnt trees. They also kept flying and landing on us when we were hiking. I checked the site and I might be blind but I couldn't find this guy here. Any help you can give me in identifying him would be great. Thanks

Gibbifer californicus
quite a distinct pleasing fungus beetle (Erotylidae).
