Barklouse Nymph

Barklouse Nymph
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
April 18, 2011
Perhaps a dirty globular spr*ngtail or something entirely different?

Moved
Moved from Barklice, Booklice, and Parasitic Lice.
Thanks, Diane. It's about 4 years too late, to rear. I've been going through my archives, looking for loose ends.

Indeed a psocid nymph
Nymphs of Loensia and Trichadenotecum (plus some others) cover themselves with detritus. They have specialized hairs for that purpose. Wish you could rear this one and see what emerges at the imaginal moult. .

Maybe something different
I'd call this a barklouse nymph.
