Try Chysolina as a genus ID in the Chrysomelinae subfamily. Any chance for a host plant?

Chrysolina inornata
Must be Chrysolina inornata than; the only all black Chrysolina

This little guys feed on everything...they are all over the local prairies. Don't remember what plant this one was on.

Moved
Moved from Eumolpinae.

Eumolpinae
interesting leafbeetle from the subfamily Eumolpinae. Maybe Thymnes...

Hm-m-m.
Reminds me of Timarcha, but I don't know if that genus is in the eastern U.S....Oops! Timarcha is at least twice that size.

hmm back to Chrysomelidae
now I´m starting to doubt too...could also be something like Leptinotarsa....better put it back to family level for now.
It´s a nice picture and should be identifiable eventually.

later comment: not Tymnes, probably not an eumolpine

Another leaf beetle
but I don't know which taxon below that.
