Beetle - Cantharis rufa

Size: about 8 mm or so
I found this beetle on one of my catnip plants in the late afternoon. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be? Thank you.

colour, size and appearance
. . . would fit for Cantharis rufa - but no safe ID.
