Large hard shelled beetle
Swan Lake, Sullivan County, New York, USA
June 2, 2007
This beetle came out of the ground in Sullivan County in the Catskills of NYS. I can not find any beetle like it in the identifiers. Anyone have an idea? Would love to know....

This is the shed nymphal skin of a dragonfly, probably a Skimmer.
