found in the bushes beneath mixed deciduous trees in the wash. Lots of webs around.

Is it acceptable to use the same name for both brown and grey varieties of a spider species - or would this spider have been brown in different light. thank you, a new entymologist.

 
Sure
Funnel web spider applies to several families in NA, but these are the best known.
