From the Beaver State - Platypsyllus castoris

From the Beaver State - Platypsyllus castoris
Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon, USA
November 1, 1984
Size: 2.5mm
I felt obligated to hunt this up and post the photos since Oregon is known as the Beaver State. I borrowed specimens from Dr. Norm Anderson, an emeritus aquatic entomology professor from Oregon State University. The specimens were collected from a dead beaver in Oak Creek just outside of Corvallis.

This is a dorsal view. I had to balance the specimen carefully with sand-grains to get it to stay dorsal side up.
