Katydid nymph - Scudderia

Katydid nymph - Scudderia
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
June 4, 2007
Assassin bug nymph or something else? I finally got a good photo of one. They've been showing up in the background of a couple of other shots I've taken recently but I didn't see them until I loaded the photos onto the computer.

Katydid nymph
and banded antennae = Scudderia, I believe.

I love those "beads" at the base of the antennae!

Thanks for the ID. I'm so glad it's a katydid. I've seen a few here even in my backyard.
