cat-faced spider with egg sac - Araneus gemmoides - Female

I captured this large female to show the 2nd graders. She looked pretty much like this when I took her in:


Since then she created her egg sac. I transferred it to this stick so it got a little damaged. It looks like a ball of insulation with a light orange tint to it. Her abdomen is significantly smaller since the egg sac was created.
