Two-tailed Swallowtail - Papilio multicaudata

Two-tailed Swallowtail - Papilio multicaudata
Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
June 5, 2007
Size: 2 to 3 inches.
This Two-tailed Swallowtail was found in Albuquerque, NM. It appears to have been around the block a time or two. The left underwing also appears to be malformed, as if it didn't expand completely when the butterfly emerged from its chrysalis. The butterfly still flew gracefully when it departed.
