Originally placed in Therevidae, moved to Bombyliidae, and finally moved to Scenopinidae in 1992.
Identification
Small, black species. Three veins extend from discal cell to wing margin (sometimes four). R4+5 has an acute fork starting near the end of the discal cell. R2+3 runs close and parallel to R1. Cell cup closed near wing margin. Antennae are similar to other Scenopinidae and Therevidae. Male eyes are large and touch on top of the head. Female eyes are widely separated. Ocelli are large. Halteres are large.
