Silly ants
So much for protecting their herd! Those ants walk all over the syrphid maggot oblivious of the fact that it is feeding on aphids. I have seen similar scenes.

I think there is also an Aphidoletes larva here that both ants are missing---in the above photo, the left ant has its face right over it, and in the second photo the right ant is stepping on it!
