Ant or wasp? - Camponotus
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA
May 8, 2007
Observed several of these at the lights at night for about a week. Never saw them flying, only walking along like an ant - quickly!

Moved
Moved from Ants.

Ant
A winged ant, also known as an alate. This one is a male, probably a carpenter ant.
