Water/Air Insect 2 - Lipoptena depressa

Water/Air Insect 2 - Lipoptena depressa
Husum, Klickitat County, Washington, USA
November 7, 2015
Size: 4mm.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I watched this insect move from the bottom of a vernal pool to the air without pausing at the surface veil. The vernal pool is located at a remote wetland/prairie remnant. Thanks for your ID!
