Rhipiphoridae or Ripiphoridae?

In the discussion on this image:

it was mentioned that Ripiphorus and Ripiphoridae are apparently the currently-accepted spellings for what we have as Rhipiphorus and Rhipiphoridae.

Going to our taxonomic reference, American Beetles, I see that h-less version is used there. In the chapter on the family, wrote that he was using that spelling because it was the one used in the original publication of the name, but that it was most likely wrong because the nomenclature of the whole family is based on extremely questionable grounds.

In his comments on BugGuide images he's consistently used the Ripiphoridae/Ripiphorus spelling, but never directly addressed the issue.

So, do we go with our reference, or do we leave well enough alone until the dust settles, taxonomically speaking?

Ripiphoridae.
Please use the 'current' spelling, but be sure to "map" the alternative spelling so folks with older references will still get results. I assume that "mapping" is possible because the company I work for has that function in the keywording software we use. Also include the alternative spelling in the appropriate fields under the "info" tabs for family and genus. Thanks.

Hearing no objections, I did it.
"Mapping" isn't quite the word to use- that would mean that the system would substitute one for the other in the search itself, which BugGuide doesn't do.

Since we only search based on text in the pages, however, including the alternate spelling in the text of the page (in the "Synonyms and Taxonomy Changes" field) will make it show up in searches just fine.
