Pat asked about his Armyworm photo, inquiring if it was the same species as Lynette's. It. is. There is often considerable variation in pattern and coloration within moth species. It can be sexual polymorphism, seasonal forms (early brood/late brood), geographic, weather or diet induced (larval/pupa development affecting adult outcomes) or just good old genetic variability.
