Clearwing Moth - Pennisetia marginata - female

Clearwing Moth - Pennisetia marginata - Female
Port Orchard, WA, Kitsap County, Washington, USA
August 27, 2006
Size: 2"
wasp mimic - but what species?

Moved
Moved from Clearwing Moths.

Pennisetia marginata female
Yet, another raspberry crown borer female. It seems that males are more "timid" than females.

Moved
Moved from Moths.

But it IS a moth...
Please provide more info on why you moved this, and more about what this critter is. As far as I can tell, this is a Clearwing MOTH. So why would you move it from MOTHS?

Thanks.

Kevin

Moth to Clearwing Moth.....
Moved from the general "moth" section to the family page for Sessiidae, which is the correct place for this critter. Its more likely to be ID'd this way.
