Gold Colored Beetle - Pelidnota punctata

Gold Colored Beetle - Pelidnota punctata
Sand Springs, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA
June 17, 2007
Size: 5/8"
---------------------------------------------------------------
Comments : Please Help With ID. Resembles a Goldsmith Beetle but does not have the rows of punctures down the back or the "hair" underneath. Also, as you can see, this one has spots down the side and has reddish abdomen. It also took a defensive posture when I touch it....see the 5th pic.
