Unknown Fly May be Chironomid - Male
Naples, Collier County, Florida, USA
December 30, 2015
Size: 1 mm
This fly was caught with a sweep net in low, dry vegetation growing next to a fence in a scrub. I think it may be a chironomid, but I am not sure. It had a distinctive dark head, thorax and end of abdomen. The first segments of the abdomen are white and nearly transparent.

Moved from Flies.
