I got this ID from looking at the other photo in the guide and the link provided. This robberfly has the lighter color, but only one dark stripe on its thorax instead of the three dark markings on the hanging thief.

Neat shot showing the single stripe on the thorax--a very easy field mark I had not noticed.

This is a female--note the ovipositor. Compare my shot of a male with its claspers:
