Onychiurinae
Great detail of the 'linea ventralis': = the 'ventral line' running ventrally from the split labium (underlip) to the tip of the collophore (ventral tube). The linea ventralis transports a kind of urine, secreted by labial kidneys (Collembola do not have malpighian tubules as found in Insecta). The transport is by capillary action. The tip of the collophore is pressed against or into a surfacewaterfilm to discharge the urine.

Thanks for the great info!
