Thank you Belov!
I just dropped this specimen at the NMSU Arthropod Museum in Las Cruces since it was found 0.7 driving miles away from the museum and NMSU entomologists believe this is most likely a new state record.
I will mail the Asarcopus palmarum specimens to TAMU Arthropod Museum; which is a first for Texas.

neat man
thanks for your nice additions to our faunal records

.
Vazquezitocoris repletus?

Dan Swanson tells me...
...that he's fairly sure that the critter is "something in the Althos/Villasitocoris/Vasquezitocoris complex." I'm hopeful that he will come up with a determination before too long.

I shared these images with a Coreid expert
and he is confident this bug is V. repletus.

Can you share...
...the individual's name and affiliation?

I just asked his permission...
He is John M. Leavengood, Jr. with USDA-APHIS-PPQ at Pharr, TX. His reply was "Vazquezitocoris repletus (Van Duzee, 1925). Looks like you guys already had zeroed in on it. I'm pretty confident that's it."

thanks -- post edited to reflect his ID
i was pretty sure it was him... i saw him work on coreids in the TAMU coll'n earlier this year

In any of these genera
it will be a new find for NM. Great!

I hope you're right!
There is no BG page for either this species or genus. The photo posted by The California Academy of Sciences seems like a good match to me. I appreciate your help.

Thank you Ken!
I value your kind help.

An interesting one
I'm seeing a couple in the Guide that are somewhat similar, but no really good matches.

That's two interesting bugs
in a row! I am glad to be providing you with some challenges and hopefully BG will be getting something new. Thanks Ken!
