This is either
B. coelamboides
or
B. panaminti
. The characters needed to separate these two species won't be visible in these photos. I just talked to a colleague who specializes in dytiscids. He suggested the species may wind up being synonymized at some point. Also, see the note on the info page. Placement to this genus is apparently tentative.

suggests B. panaminti is the only one in range? According to that B. coelamboides is known from southeastern CA, but not Death Valley where panaminti is.

Could be either
The more recent keys list
B. panaminti
from Death Valley, but
B. coelamboides
is more widely ranged. As I said earlier, there seems to be doubt that these are distinct species.

Specimens were collected elsewhere in the park by NPS workers. I'll talk to them and see if we can get the specimens sent off for ID.

There's one species
Agabus rumppi, which is in Death Valley, but don't know what it looks like.
