Tachinid Fly - Mochlosoma - Male
In Westwood - elevation 5100ft, Lassen County, California, USA
September 14, 2015
Size: Body length 13mm
I typed in 'Tachinid Fly Proboscis' and came up with flies in Dexiini - see here: (1).
My first guess is a Mochlosoma species, based on similarity to the following specimen:
