This was seen crawling across my sister's car in Durham NC, kind of teetering and spinning as it went along. She flipped it over, and this picture shows the underside. I'll post another picture showing the crawling view.

This is the larva of a green lacewing, family Chrysopidae, order Neuroptera. Larvae sometimes 'decorate' themselves with debris to disguise themselves from their prey (aphids) and predators (ants). Please see additional images and information in the guide pages for this family.
