Loxa Flavicollis - Loxa flavicollis

Loxa Flavicollis - Loxa flavicollis
Juno Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
June 2, 2007
Size: 22 mm
Found this large shield insect in my pool. Believing it may still be alive, I photographed it and set it in the shade of a hedge. . .came back later to an empty pool net. With its red shoulder spines it greatly resembles the spined green stink bug, Loxa Flavicollis, but I saw no antennae.
