tufted-back longhorn - Pogonocherus penicillatus

tufted-back longhorn - Pogonocherus penicillatus
Mt. Washington, Coos County, New Hampshire, USA
June 8, 2007
Size: maybe 6 mm
Plucked this longhorn with a bad haircut off the observation deck wall atop the Mt. Washington weather observatory. It was a nice day and insects from all around had come to the summit for a ritual rendezvous orgy.

Pogonocherus penicillatus
The angled white basal band and longitudinally-arranged tufts of black setae are distinctive.

Thank you, Ted.
I didn't even look in Yanega yet. I so enjoy IDing others' images that I usually leave mine for someone else to ID :-)
