- - Cordylospasta opaca - Male
Just N. of I-40, on Kelbaker Road, Mojave National Preserve, San Bernardino County, California, USA
March 27, 2016
Size: ~ 15 mm
My first thought was Phodaga alticeps when I saw this beetle. It was fast moving, running along the ground. It does not have the flared tibiae of P. alticeps as they appear here, though.

Moved tentatively to Cordylospasta opaca
Moved from Blister Beetles.

A male,
it appears.
