Moth - Hypsopygia olinalis

Moth - Hypsopygia olinalis
Alton, Madison County, Illinois, USA
June 11, 2007
Size: ~2 cm
It was in a really awkward and hard to reach place so sorry about the photo.

Yes
they're quite the contortionists and like you to participate in their agony. I love their "let it all hang out there, ain't I pretty stance." Dolichomia olinalis

They definitely
like to torture us. This was my first time to see this species; I hope I see it lower down and facing me next time. I had to turn backwards and look up at a 90 degree angle while crouching down. Aaagggg! And thanks for the ID! Pretty moth.

Anything
for a fellow "Little Egyptian" - or do you guys consider yourselves part of Little Egypt?

Well
I'm not sure if this area is part of "Little Egypt". My cousin worked at the Daily Egyptian in Carbondale, but I honestly don't know where that is. I'm also afraid to admit that I don't live there, just my grandparents and cousins. I sure would like to though! Unfortunately I'm stuck in Houston...

Well
If you've got family here we'll still include you - and Texas ain't half bad I hear. Got bugs down there!
