Oh, go on. Add the face shot.
There's only one for D. hyalipennis, and it's blurry. (Caveat: I'm a push-over for good face photos.)

Anything for you Ron...
I don't think this one is blurry.

Glad I asked.
Quite nice!

Thanks!
Sometimes it's not clear to me when to post and when it's "just another image".

If no one has ever complained, you probably should post more.
(Boy, will that get me in trouble!) I'm assuming that your photos won't be duplicative, as mine sometimes are. Face shots are invariably good on flies, essential on some for ID to species, and often useful for determining sex. Wing veins and patterns, shown from above, are also important.

Robber Fly
I really don't know much about these predatory insects so I can't be more specific, but you've almost certainly got a lovely image of a robber fly.

A quick search through the guide led me to Dioctria hyalipennis, which appears to be a close match. Maybe an expert can give you better information.
Here is a picture for comparison

That certain looks right David
I'll let it sit a short while but unless you're contradicted I'll move it shortly.
Thanks!
