I hope that this time I found the Carolina mantis ootheca. They usually turn out to be the introduced Narrow-winged Mantis.

Finally!
Thanks! This is the first time I see a native mantis of any sort. The introduced species, especially the Chinese and European ones, have taken over the landscape, it would seem.
