Seen here on Geraea canescens, or "desert gold" of Death Valley wildflower fame. A number of beetles were also ensconced within the flower head.

This and another (even more) orange wasp had repeatedly...but fleetingly...enticed me by momentarily appearing a number of times during an enchanting midday visit to some desert dunes.
