Correct?
Body color, red eyes, and pruinose segment don't really match other photos of T. chiricahua. Is this one correctly identified?

Good question (possibly yes & no)
Rich,

There can be considerable individual and geographioc variation among cicadas and it's hard to identify from a picture alone.

NOTE: This cicada was photographed in New Mexico and the others from the Sonoran Desert region of s. Arizona. I have collected extensively across much of the southwest and I have observed that from desert to desert, mountain to mountain - the shifts in characters among populations (not just cicadas) can be amazing!

Unfortunatley, I have seen several color forms of this species and the only thing consistent was overall shape, size and wing characters. Body pattern and color seemed to vary!
