Seen inserting abdomen in small worm hole in oak log possibly laying eggs

Giant ichneumon wasp.
This is a female giant ichneumon wasp in the genus Megarhyssa. Please add this nice image to the appropriate guide page (where you will find information on the amazing life cycle). Thanks for sharing!
