Soldier fly? - Cephalochrysa nigricornis
Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA

Size: ~8mm
Found this guy resting on a sunny leaf in an oak hickory woodland. It looked like a delicate metallic soldier fly. If the second image doesn't help, feel free to frass it.
