Leptocera erythrocera (Becker), male
Moved from Leptocera. ID'd from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks Aaron.

No Rhode Island records in (1), so presumably a new state record (though not surprising seeing as how it is very widespread/common; looking at the distribution map it seems RI and AK are the only states without localities).

Moved
Moved from Limosininae. Leptocera, will have to examine closer to try for species ID.

Mite
Underneath the wings there is a mite attached to the abdomen. You can vaguely see the outline under the wings.

So there is
I didn't notice it. It's quite big for such a small fly! Too bad I didn't take a lateral shot, since it would've been neat to see.

Moved
Moved from Flies.

Limosininae
Leptocera or Rachispoda
