Why the date is important.

Where in Washington?
I assume you mean Washington state, but could you please be more specific with the location? Add a date, too, if possible. Thank you.

Giant Water Bug
This is a true bug with a piercing, sucking mouthpart. They can deliver a painful bite, lethal in the case of small fish and tadpoles. There are several species and many examples on this page.
