Mydas fly - Mydas clavatus - male

Mydas fly - Mydas clavatus - Male
Doddridge County, West Virginia, USA
June 26, 2007
Size: about 1 1/2"
I'm fairly certain of this ID, but would appreciate confirmation. Is it a female (I have a closer view of the face if needed)? It appeared to have a broken wing, but flew away.

Thanks!

Mydas
I think the females are marked more wasplike and banded. Male.

Thanks for the confirmation, Herschel...
and the sexual marking information.
