Came across this mating pair of something alongside the trail at the Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center. Can you ID this black and red insect? Clearly dimorphic, which one is the male and which one the female? Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

Looks like ...
... Species Jadera haematoloma - the Red-shouldered Bug.
I think the fat bug would be the female.
