Size: 1-1.5 inches
Spider that was accidentally dug up in relocating some small plants in a rich site. Anxious to get away and crawl under wood chips as quickly as possible.

Ummidia sp. Awesome find, do you have any pics of the area you dug it up at, I would love to see it!

No pics of the area, but it is an old area of north Atlanta that had very rich, moist soil with high tree canopy; about 15 feet away the area dropped sharply down to a creek. An old sewer line had broken and the area is going to be bulldozed to add a new line. We were there to rescue native plants in the path. So he/she got saved by accident.

That's great, thanks for the info. I was down in Georgia digging for these and only found a little baby, I haven't found a large specimen like that before, once again, great find, most people don't get to see those!
