Spider ID - Araneus bicentenarius
on ranch near Perdenales River and West Cave Preserve (Cypress Mill), Travis County (Texas Hill Country) County, Texas, USA

Size: abdomen about 1 1/2 in
Pale green abdomen with 2 large "eyes" and black markings. The spider was eating a large grasshopper that was trapped in its web. The web was between cedar trees. Photo was taken in the late afternoon.

Has the overall look of Araneus bicentenarius
- Giant Lichen Orbweaver, images in the guide here, but we often get a couple of these Araneus confused. Jeff will give you a firm ID.
