I believe that this guy is a Carolina Wolf Spider, Hogna carolinensis.

Matching Palps
The palps seem to match Jimmy's image, from thousands of miles away!
Hogna carolinensis: ♂ Also, My spider's palps do not match this Hogna antelucana: ♂ (both of these images are ventrals of the left-side palp)
Plus the jaws are slightly orange-colored and all of the other body patterns match up well enough. (for the south-western desert version of this species)
