This is a fresh pupa from the caterpillar. It is about 6 hours after molting the larval skin. Its skin can be seen near the posterior of the larva. From its wanderings to this stage was about 72-80 hours. Temperature will likely affect the time for this process. Temps here in FL were about 90 degrees in the day and 73 in the evening.
