Colorful longhorn - Sternidius alpha

Colorful longhorn - Sternidius alpha
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA
May 24, 2007
Body a little less than 2 cm long. At light, at night.

Are you sure about the size?
The markings suggest Liopinus alpha, but that is a much smaller species (Yanega gives a range of 4-9 mm). There are lots of bigger species in the tribe that look similar, but they're all South American!

You are right. I measured the moss on the wall :( and it's closer to .75 cm. Sorry on the inaccuracy.
