Simuliidae Perhaps?

Simuliidae Perhaps?

I think this may be a 'black fly'. It's sitting on my hand. There aren't a whole lot of 'black fly' (Simuliidae) photos in the guide. That surprises me given how numerous they are in Canada. I can not find any images of Simulium venustum, in the guide. I think this species is the common Canadian Black fly.  On the other hand, the same article says that there are over 100 named Simuliidae species in Canada and more that have never been named. In any event, do I have the right Family by thinking this fly is Simuliidae?

Moved
Moved from Frit Flies.

no, Chloropidae
one can tell by- absence of anal cell in wing and enlarged ocellar triangle. I am entirely sure that this is in Chloropidae. Very good picture of a very tiny fly

Thank you Keith. I've moved it to Chloropidae.
