Blackwater Bluet - Enallagma weewa - male

Blackwater Bluet - Enallagma weewa - Male
Hamlet area, east of Gum Swamp Creek as it leaves Gum Swamp Lake, Richmond County, North Carolina, USA
July 1, 2007
A teneral male, perched over a blackwater stream, which makes the background very, very black! (Thanks to ode expert Carl Rothfels for correcting me on the gender of this one.)
An interesting Sandhills site with a Blackwater stream flowing out of an artificial lake. This is also a good site for Sparkling Jewelwing, but it was not photographed by me.
