Wasp-like moth in Southwest Florida - Vitacea polistiformis - female

Wasp-like moth in Southwest Florida - Vitacea polistiformis - Female
Fort Myers, Lee County, Florida, USA
June 19, 2016
Size: <1"
This little bug fooled my dad into thinking he was a wasp, but he couldn't fool me. I have heard of moths that mimic Yellowjackets, but I've never seen one that looks so much like a paper wasp. He was suspended on a screen enclosure when I found him, late in the afternoon.
